310 is a telephone area code in the southern California region. It was one of the original area codes created in 1947, and originally served the entire southern California region.The 310 area code is now confined to the Westside of Los Angeles County, and the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. It covers the cities of Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Culver City, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Hollywood, Inglewood, Ladera Heights, Lawndale, Lennox, Manhattan Beach, Marina del Rey, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, and Venice.

The 310 area code was split in 1991, when the San Fernando Valley and the Hollywood Hills were split off into the new 818 area code. In 1997, most of the San Fernando Valley was split off into the new 818 area code, leaving the 310 area code with its current boundaries.
