It was one of the original area codes created in 1947, and originally served the entire southern California region.The 310 area code is now confined to the Westside of Los Angeles County, and the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. It covers the cities of Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Culver City, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Hollywood, Inglewood, Ladera Heights, Lawndale, Lennox, Manhattan Beach, Marina del Rey, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, and Venice.
